FT Innovative Lawyers
Shoosmiths was named top in the billing and fees category of the FT Innovative Lawyers Awards 2009.
Its work to help drive down the legal spend at client Hewlett-Packard Limited was the innovation that won it the accolade. In answer to the question How can a law firm help you reduce your legal budget?, Shoosmiths created a ground-breaking billing model combining elements of risk and reward, which since 2008 has helped Hewlett-Packard Limited make significant legal spend savings.
Legal Week
Shoosmiths is one of the best performing national law firms, according to Legal Week’s Client Satisfaction Report 09.
It gained the quality mark based on responses to a survey of 873 senior in-house lawyers, and finance directors at 683 different companies operating in the UK, including 60% of the FTSE 100. Shoosmiths scores highly on cost and alternative billing aspects and is ahead of average scores for service delivery compared to other national firms.
Leasing Life
Shoosmiths’ asset finance team landed the UK Law Firm Asset Finance Provider of the Year title at the 2009 Leasing Life Awards.
The annual event seeks organisations that have set the benchmark for best practice in the industry, recognising outstanding performance over the past 12 months.
Credit Today
Shoosmiths was named Litigation Team of the Year at the prestigious Credit Today Awards 2009 – at the first time of asking.
Part of the national law firm’s Lender Services Unit, the litigation team was praised for the ‘variety and standard of its services’.
RosPA
Shoosmiths won the top national honours at The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2009, beating tough competition to take the Commercial and Business Services Industry Sector award.
The award is presented to organisations and businesses for ‘demonstrating consistent excellence in health and safety performance’.
Solent Deal Awards
Sean Wright, head of Shoosmiths Corporate finance team in the South, was named Dealmaker of the Year at the Solent Deals Awards 2008.
The award recognises Wright as the most active and high profile dealmaker in the region's corporate finance community.
