Take a look around and you’ll find plenty of information about the training experience we offer
and some contributions from our current trainees which will provide you with a bird’s eye perspective of what they’ve been up to and how they’ve found their training contract so far.

Whatever stage you’re at, we’d encourage you to take the long view and think now about the kind of firm you would like to work in. We offer summer placements so that you can see for yourself our friendly and down-to-earth working environment, as well as being given the opportunity to complete real trainee-level work.
Life isn’t all about work and our trainees are encouraged to strike a healthy balance in everything they do. So you’ll find evidence on these pages that the trainees get to do a lot of things away from their desk and often are left to fly solo. We give them the freedom to develop valuable skills through marketing, social, charity or sporting activities.
Shoosmiths is a successful, ambitious firm with many awards and accolades.

We were awarded Best Trainer 2007 by LawCareers.net, nominated for the same award in 2010 and 2011 as well as Best Work Placement Scheme in 2011 along with winning the Commendation for Diversity Award. This is a great reflection of the work that people all around the firm do to ensure that the trainees get the best experience possible.

More recently we are proud to have been shortlisted for the Most Innovative Recruitment Initiative for our graduate recruitment - Lawyer HR Awards 2011 and for the Excellence in Talent Management and Retention category by The Lawyer Workplace & Diversity Awards 2012.
