Preparing for the Equality Act 2010: What should HR be doing? (Birmingham - Private Sector)
17 September 2010
The Equality Act 2010 will implement the biggest shake-up of discrimination and equal pay legislation for 40 years and presents a once in a generation challenge for employers and their HR teams.
We expect the main provisions of the Equality Act 2010 will start coming into force on 1 October this year.
The Act not only consolidates existing discrimination and equal pay laws, it adds to them and with 218 clauses and 28 schedules the sheer size of the project looks daunting. However, there is no need to panic!
Let Shoosmiths guide you gently through what you need to know for now (rather than force feeding you the whole thing in one sitting!) and take the opportunity to discuss the practical issues with your peers from similar organisations.
We will be holding a series of “bite-sized” breakfast briefings around the country and would love you to join us.
Each session will be held at your local Shoosmiths’ office from 8.00 am until approximately 9.30 am.
Numbers are limited so if you would like to join us please book your place by completing the form below.
You can download a map with directions to this office.
