Shoosmiths in line for RoSPA award

22 April 2009

Shoosmiths has been nominated for a prestigious RoSPA award.

The national law firm is in line for one of The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2009.

It will find out which one at a ceremony at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre, on 14 May.

In 2006 Shoosmiths scooped the Commercial and Business Services Industry Sector award, after ‘demonstrating consistent excellence in health and safety performance’.

The RoSPA Awards recognise organisations that have good health and safety management systems in place, as well as promoting the reduction of accidents and ill-health at work.

As well as ensuring the health and safety of its own employees, Shoosmiths has a strong occupational safety offering for its clients.

Partner and regulatory specialist Ron Reid heads Shoosmiths Occupational Safety (SOS), and previously advised the Health and Safety Executive on complex matters, giving him a unique insight into the enforcement process and the major causes of health and safety prosecutions.

Reid said: “The nomination reflects an organisation practising what it preaches, and means clients we advise on these issues can have absolute faith in what we’re telling them.”

The RoSPA Awards are sponsored by The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health, the leading health and safety examining body.
