Receivables recruit reunited
06 May 2009
Shoosmiths' Manchester office continues to grow, with the recruitment of another finance litigation specialist.
Associate Helen Collinge will work with partner and head of receivables Harold Brako.Helen joins from DLA Piper, where she worked with Brako before he moved to Shoosmiths in January, when its new Spinningfields office opened.
He said: “Helen is an extremely capable performer, with exactly the sort of knowledge and experience we need to grow our new receivables finance litigation and recoveries service, here in Manchester.”
Helen has acted for all the main UK clearing banks and for asset-based lenders, in the banking and finance sectors.
Her experience includes all aspects of the litigation process, working on contractual and commercial disputes; possession proceedings; asset and receivables finance disputes; and judicial reviews.
Brako specialises in banking and finance litigation and dispute resolution for finance sector clients, including members of the Asset Based Finance Association, and the Finance and Leasing Association, as well as the major UK clearing banks.
His team is part of the national law firm’s Lender Services Unit, which brings together three finance sector specialisms: finance litigation; recoveries and collections; and regulation and compliance.
Helen joining comes just weeks after three new team leaders were appointed to the Manchester office’s shortfall recoveries team.
