Shoosmiths wins Victim Support work ahead of eight rivals
12 January 2010
Shoosmiths is to provide human resources legal advice to Victim Support.
The national law firm emerged from a tough selection process ahead of eight other law firms.Victim Support is an independent charity for victims and witnesses of crime across England and Wales, and every year offers help to more than 1.5m people.
It depends on thousands of specially-trained volunteers to deliver its services, and is the latest on a growing list of Shoosmiths clients that are charities.
Partner and national head of employment Kevin McCavish said: “We’re absolutely thrilled about the prospect of working with Victim Support, which provides an essential service to hundreds of thousands of people every year.
“We’re particularly pleased to work with them alongside our other charity clients, including The National Trust.
“We see the charity sector as one that is incredibly important both nationally and internationally, and we’re pleased to play our part. Our own chosen charity for 2008-2010 is Shelter, which help homeless people.”
Established 35-years-ago, Victim Support works closely with the police, courts and other parts of the criminal justice system, offering victims of crime and witnesses free and confidential advice.
