Alice joined Shoosmiths in February 2025 and has more than 5 years’ experience across personal and corporate immigration law. She is based at the Manchester office.
Alice is a dedicated immigration lawyer who works closely with her employment colleagues. She has worked with a varied client base including start-ups, multinational organisations, and high net worth individuals. Equally, Alice has represented individuals personally, from entry to the UK to obtaining citizenship years later. This includes a varied range of visa types such as Global Talent, Academic Visitor, International Sportsperson, and Private Life.
Alice understands her client’s global staff mobility needs. She has supported clients in obtaining sponsor licences and applying for visas for their workforce. This includes Skilled Worker and Senior or Specialist Worker applications with dependant family members. She aims to provide a full service, supporting the client company but also building good relationships with the individual applicants whom the company employs. Alice has also been involved in complex corporate transactions, advising on the reporting obligations which arise.
Alice continues to advise clients who have been impacted by Brexit. She has been involved in various complex EU Settlement Scheme and Frontier Worker cases. She has been successful in obtaining leave under the EUSS for undocumented EU nationals and in retained residence cases.
Alice has spoken at a highly well attended webinar on Electronic Travel Authorisations, as well as offering bespoke client training. She is interested in the development and practical application of new Immigration Rules, which always pose a challenge in this ever-changing area of law.
Alice has an interest in corporate responsibility, having managed a pro bono advice clinic for asylum seekers and undocumented migrants in a previous role. She started her career in legal aid before making the transition to corporate immigration, and values the opportunity to give back in her community.
Alice is a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association (ILPA).
Alice qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive through CILEx in February 2024. As an alternative route to qualification, CILEx allowed her to specialise in immigration at an early stage in her career. In August 2025, Alice cross qualified as a Solicitor.
