Privacy knowledge lawyer shaping data compliance and AI governance
As Shoosmiths’ dedicated Privacy & Data knowledge lawyer, I provide specialist research, training, and insight on global privacy and data protection compliance. My background includes acting as principal legal counsel for the cyber division of a major defence tech company, advising on early AI and data projects, data security, and supply chain control.
I regularly write on emerging technologies and support Shoosmiths’ internal AI governance, including policy development, AI literacy, and development of the firm's AI training. I serve on the AI Group Committee of the Society for Computers & Law and the editorial committee of PDP AI Compliance and Risk.
My experience includes advising on anonymisation, privacy-enhancing technologies, law enforcement data processing, and cyber resiliency, making data compliance principles practical and accessible for both clients and colleagues.
I am also a keen supporter of new entrants to the privacy profession through theJPA.club.
