Hywel is a Senior Associate in the Commercial department, based in Milton Keynes. Hywel has wide experience working on a variety of commercial matters working for both customers and suppliers. Hywel regularly advises on agreements for the supply/purchase of goods and services across a variety of sectors, including automotive and logistics. Hywel also advises clients in relation to preparing their Modern Slavery Act statements.
Hywel has spent time on secondment with several clients across his career, including part time flexible secondments at both a mobile phone manufacturer and software developer, as well as a virtual secondment undertaking marketing approvals work for a major soft-drinks manufacturer. Hywel completed a six month secondment with an automotive manufacturer as a trainee, and his knowledge of their business meant they asked for him to come back on a part time basis some years later when they were short of resource.
Hywel’s recent experience includes:
- advising a provider of energy metering services in agreeing a new agreement with a multi-million pound customer;
- working closely alongside a packaging and waste compliance firm supporting on all elements of their commercial contracting for over 8 years;
- advising a Japanese-based global car manufacturer appointing a new, worldwide, marking agency partner;
- providing ongoing support to a major logistics provider on a variety of business-as-usual commercial matter; and
- assisting a global commercial vehicle manufacturer on setting up a brand-new outsourced logistics and warehousing solution.
Prior to joining Shoosmiths in September 2015, Hywel read History at Durham University, before completing the GDL and LPC at BPP Cambridge. Hywel qualified at Shoosmiths in September 2017.
