Sarah is an Associate in Shoosmiths' Employment team, based in the London office.
She advises on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters for both companies and individuals (including senior executives).
Sarah's experience includes:
- drafting, reviewing and negotiating settlement agreements for either employees or employers;
- conducting employment tribunal litigation, including claims for unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing;
- advising in relation to disciplinary and grievance processes (including investigations) and protected conversations;
- assisting clients in relation to redundancy situations and workforce restructures;
- advising on issues concerning discrimination under the Equality Act 2010, including the duty to make reasonable adjustments, and wider DEI considerations;
- delivering training to clients' HR and/or in-house legal teams on a range of people management topics; and
- reviewing employment contracts and policies.
Sarah has particular expertise in the determination of employment status and the use of agency workers and atypical staff. Sarah is also part of the national team's sector working groups for Mobility, Logistics and Manufacturing and Financial Services.
Sarah completed her training contract at Shoosmiths, and prior to that had several years' experience in private practice employment law. Sarah was previously called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple.
