I am a commercial real estate lawyer who qualified in April 2022, following several years of experience as a paralegal in the same field. I advise on a broad range of commercial property matters, including acquisitions and disposals of freehold and leasehold property, landlord and tenant issues, estate management, secured lending, corporate support and restructuring.

I am recognised for my practical, solution-focused approach and ability to build strong client relationships. I work with a diverse client base, including national retailers, property companies and overseas investors.

My experience includes:

• Advising on large leasehold portfolios and estate management matters, including new leases, renewals, variations, licences to occupy or alter, assignments, underlettings, rent reviews and surrenders.
• Supporting clients with acquisitions and disposals of commercial property, including development sites, warehouses and industrial estates.
• Acting on real estate finance transactions for both borrowers and lenders.
• Handling complex commercial property aspects of corporate transactions and joint ventures.
• Advising on electric vehicle charging point leases from both landlord and tenant perspectives.
• Working with overseas investors to manage and expand UK property portfolios in England and Wales.

I am part of the Real Estate team in the Birmingham office. I am also a Turkish-speaking lawyer, enabling me to support clients with Turkish connections and foster trusted relationships across cultures.

Outside of my legal practice, I serve as a primary school governor and chair the Health and Safety Committee. I have held governance roles for over five years across two schools, contributing to strategic development and safeguarding in education.

Recent highlights include:

• Assisting on a Class B2/B8 development, negotiating an agreement for lease and ancillary documents for a unit with substantial landlord works and significant annual rent.
• Supporting the £22 million disposal of tenanted land, including title review, lease analysis and completion coordination.
• Acting for the landlord of multiple shopping centres across England on a wide range of asset management matters.
