I lead Shoosmiths’ Banking & Finance team in Leeds, advising on leveraged finance, venture debt and general corporate financings (including transaction based acquisition financing and general working capital facilities). My clients include clearing banks, debt funds, venture and alternative lenders and private equity houses, alongside a variety of borrowers ranging from SMEs to listed companies.

Recent deals include acting for a private equity backed activated carbon filtration company in respect of £65m of facilities provided to complete the company's refinance, corporate reorganisation and an acquisition simultaneously.

Having trained and worked at an international firm for 17 years prior to joining Shoosmiths in 2021, I brought with me  to Shoosmiths a wealth of experience working with US and European venture debt providers and now oversee one of the largest venture debt and growth lending specialist teams in the UK, completing work for venture debt players including TriplePoint Capital LLC and Palatine Growth Credit and growth lending specialists including Santander Growth Capital and Growth Lending. Alongside the firm's strong Venture Capital practice, I and my team work closely with VC backed borrowers, in particular tech scale-ups, to assist with their financing structures and documentation.

Finally, I am also national co-lead of Shoosmiths' Financial Services Sector, using over 20 years of experience working with financial institutions providing financial products and services.
