I’m a Partner in Shoosmiths’ Real Estate team based in Birmingham, with over 25 years’ experience advising investors, developers and corporate occupiers.
Recognised by Chambers & Partners in the West Midlands as a Band 3 ranked lawyer I specialise in managing complex, multi-property deals relishing projects involving multiple sites or parties, or leading and managing project teams. Other lawyers value my expertise as co-counsel, working to buy and to fund portfolios worth hundreds of millions of pounds.
I have a special interest in mobility, supporting clients in the automotive industry across their portfolios. As part of the group leading our firm-wide Mobility sector offer, I am well-versed in EVs and the ZEV mandate, car finance issues, and connected tech and autonomous vehicles.
Since joining Shoosmiths in 2013 I've worked on transactions nationwide, but also in my adopted city of Birmingham where clients include CBRE, (acting on the lease of their premises in Temple Row and new in Chamberlain Square) and IM Properties where I supported them on their redevelopment, leasing, and investment sale of the landmark building 55 Colmore Row. Further afield I act for Stellantis on their UK portfolio, with major projects including the sale of their Ryton and Luton sites and the development of their new parts warehouse at Ellesmere Port, completed at the end of 2023. I also act for other significant players in the cradle-to-grave automotive lifecycle.
I am regularly instructed on significant investment and development projects/leases with substantial annual rents. In the recent past I've worked on the acquisition of the Kings Mall Shopping Centre in Hammersmith, Churchill Square in Brighton as well as hotel investments and multi-million-pound retail warehouses where clients include UK and overseas investors, private equity houses and public sector bodies—bringing strategic clarity and commercial insight to every transaction.
