Principal Associate advising on corporate restructuring and advisory work
I am a Principal Associate in the Corporate Restructuring & Advisory team and based in London.
My practice is non-contentious, advising a range of stakeholders (including office-holders, lenders, directors, corporates, creditors and shareholders) on their rights, options and remedies in insolvent and distressed situations. My practice includes:
- acting both seller and buyer-side on business and assets sales (both "pre-packed" and following extensive trading by IPs);
- advising boards of directors on their duties when a company is bordering on insolvency; and
- advising lenders on security enhancements and their enforcement options.
My recent experience includes advising:
- Quantuma Advisory Limited, as joint liquidators of La Perla Global Management (UK) Limited, the globally renowned women’s fashion retailer, on a landmark cross-border insolvency transaction involving parallel proceedings in the UK and Italy;
- Interpath Ltd, as joint administrators of Hush Brasseries Limited, on a pre-pack administration sale resulting in the rescue of the Cabana restaurant chain;
- GS Real Estate Development Company Ltd on its acquisition of the East Road development project from Elements (Europe) Ltd (in administration);
- ETM Group on its acquisition of Kitty Hawk from the Maven Leisure Group (in administration);
- Interpath Ltd, as joint administrators of each of Cenergist Ltd and Mathewson Limited, on business and asset disposals of the respective businesses; and
- BDO LLP, as joint administrators of Bambino Mio Limited, on the sale of the business and assets of the company (including its international operations in Holland).
I have undertaken work in a broad range of industries including the further education, care home, energy, manufacturing, legal, retail, casual dining and financial services sectors. Examples of previous sector experience include:
- advising the officeholders of a number of energy suppliers, including on a landmark court application for directions which created new law;
- advising the education administrators on the first and second education administrations of further education colleges; and
- acting company-side on the proposal and implementation of a retail CVA.
Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, I worked at a firm of insolvency practitioners, where I was responsible for case progression on a range of administrations, liquidations and other insolvency processes.
