James is a partner in our Banking & Finance team, specialising in real estate and hotel finance, both in the UK and internationally. He has extensive experience of advising lenders and borrowers in relation to a broad range of real estate assets on senior debt, mezzanine debt and preferred equity transactions.

James regularly works with a broad range of lenders, including domestic and international banks, debt funds, insurers and family offices and advises a number of major property and hotel groups, both on transactions and on key strategic projects.

He is particularly well known in the leisure and hospitality industry and has over 20 years' experience working with clients in this field. He has extensive knowledge of hotel operating agreements and non-disturbance agreements, and regularly speaks at and chair industry conferences and events on key issues affecting the sector.
