Partner advising on complex cross-border M&A
I’m a corporate partner based in our London office and lead our Asia Pacific practice.
Most of my work is cross-border in nature, involving mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic reorganisations and corporate governance. I work closely with global conglomerates, international funds, financial institutions, corporates and entrepreneurs across sectors including financial services, technology, and infrastructure.
Before joining Shoosmiths, I trained and practised at Slaughter and May in London and went on to hold roles at Simpson Thacher Bartlett in New York and Jun He in Beijing. Having grown up in Singapore and worked in different countries, I try and bring a global perspective to cross-border deal structuring and risk management. Speaking Mandarin and Cantonese helps, though I find it more important to really understand what each client needs.
Outside of work, I’m a non-executive director of a non-profit that operates 7 special schools across the UK and a proud member (and Freeman) of the City of London Solicitors’ Company. I also try and write from time to time in a bid to resurrect my English degree! Recent publications include articles for the Financial Times, International Investment and the World Financial Review.
