I’m a Consultant in Shoosmiths’ planning team, advising private and public sector clients on planning, environmental and regeneration law. I specialise in residential, retail, wind farm and mixed-use developments, with a focus on planning agreements, appeals and site promotion. My recent work includes advising on planning agreements for major mixed-use schemes and minerals operations.

I spent over a decade as a legal manager at South Lanarkshire Council before moving into private practice in 2007. My in-house experience gives me a deep understanding of local authority processes and the practicalities of planning delivery.

I’m an Affiliate of the Royal Town Planning Institute and previously served on the Planning Committee of the Law Society of Scotland. I’m known for my pragmatic, commercially focussed advice and ability to get deals over the line.
