Planning litigator trusted for clarity and strategic depth
I’m a Legal Director in Shoosmiths’ planning team, based in London and head up the London and Southern planning teams. I advise on all aspects of planning throughout the lifecycle of developments, including highways and compulsory purchase law.
My recent work includes leading advice on the regeneration of education sites in London to deliver c2,000 much needed residential units; one of the largest estate regeneration schemes in London for c1,900 residential units; providing strategic advice and negotiating the S106 agreement for a 5,000 residential led redevelopment near Bedford; purpose built student accommodation and co-living schemes; a greenbelt logistics site for 1.3m sqft of industrial space; and planning litigation in the Supreme Court for the housebuilding industry representative bodies.
In addition, I regularly work with the wider real estate teams, both in relation to the acquisition of sites for development and also in relation to bespoke planning contract drafting, particularly around Hillside issues and strategic land considerations.
I’m a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Legal 500 describes me as “exceptionally good”—a safe pair of hands for complex planning litigation.
