I’m a Partner in Shoosmiths’ Solent real estate team, specialising in residential and mixed use land acquisition and disposal. I advise national housebuilders, retirement living developers, land promoters and some land owners on strategic land, immediate land, conditional on planning deals and affordable housing disposals.  Recent work includes:

* acting for a a major housebuilder in the acquisition of a site with outline planning for up to 2300 dwellings and associated development,

* acting for a land promoter in the novation of a promotion agreement for a prospective garden village development,

* acting for another promoter in the negotiation of a promotion agreement for a strategic land project,

* negotiating a collaboration agreement between two major housebuilders developing different areas of one site with planning,

* acting for a national housebuilder to facilitate payment of overage and negotiate a suite of collaborative interrelating documents with another developer,

* acting for a landowner in the negotiation of a hybrid option and promotion agreement with a promoter developer,

* acting on a long term site assembly project for a developer and the ultimate resale of the site once planning had been granted,

* acting for a landowner who had promoted his site through the local plan, on a conditional on planning sale to a national housebuilder, and

* acting for landowning charity in the disposal of land to a registered provider, with associated overage.

I qualified in 1997.   I have over 25 years experience focusing on residential lead land acquisition, promotion and affordable housing, with a reputation for resolving title and infrastructure issues that unlock development.

I’m a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and bring a pragmatic, outcome-driven approach to every project.
