Senior associate specialising in contentious insolvency claims
I am a Senior Associate in the Corporate Restructuring and Advisory team. I provide dispute resolution and litigation services to insolvency practitioners, limited companies, creditors and shareholders.
My background is in corporate and commercial litigation, with a particular focus on contentious insolvency. I have litigated a broad range of claims, and applications in the County Court, High Court and Court of Appeal.
I specialise in Insolvency Act 1986 claims including misfeasance, wrongful/fraudulent trading, preferences and transactions at an undervalue. I also have niche experience in director disqualification, tax avoidance schemes by company directors and emergency injunctions.
My cases include:
-
- Advising the liquidators of Food Retailer Operations Limited on multi-million-pound antecedent transaction claims
- Defending and settling a claim for £22 million against former company directors accused of fraud and misfeasance
- Advising administrators in respect of potential multi-million-pound fraud
- Acting for officeholders in misfeasance, transactions at an undervalue and preference claims against former directors and associates of failed companies
- Advising officeholders in respect of complex tax avoidance carried out by company directors, including E share, EFRBS and EBT schemes.
- Acting for the appellant in Consulting Concepts International Inc v Consumer Protection Association (Saudi Arabia) [2023] 4 W.L.R. 15 in the Court of Appeal, which established a key precedent on limitation in contract disputes
- Successfully securing leave to remain a director whilst disqualified in Falodun v Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy [2023] B.C.C. 511, which introduced the concept of full and frank disclosure in section 17 proceedings
I’m also an active member of the International Women in Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) and sit on the Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee.
