Shoosmiths advise Cow Corner on the refinancing of One Point Advisory Services

Law firm Shoosmiths has advised Cow Corner on the refinancing of One Point Advisory Services (One Point) where Summit, a global, growth-focused investor, will support the ongoing development of the group.

A multi-disciplinary team of experts from Shoosmiths’ private equity (PE) team advised on the deal, led by corporate partners Dan Shilvock and Andrew Jennings. The wider corporate team comprised of partner Elizabeth Ward, principal associate Jordan Telford, senior associate Alice Richmond and associate Nathan Turley.

One Point supports Regional Champion accountants and IFA’s who want to preserve their independence as leading firms in their local market. One Point serves more than 25,000 clients and manages over £2bn of client money through Galloways, Mitchell Charlesworth, Pierce and Pembroke – all leading accounting and IFA firms in their region.
Dan Shilvock, corporate partner and Cow Corner client relationship partner, commented: “Having advised Cow Corner over the past four years, it has been fantastic to see the ongoing growth of the fund and particularly the One Point platform. We look forward to being involved in the next stage of that growth with Summit Partners.”

Charlie Ross, partner at Cow Corner, commented: “This is a landmark deal for the fund as we continue our support for Regional Champions in the sector and growing the wider platform. It was great to work with the Shoosmiths team once again following previous successful transactions together – we really valued their involvement and expertise as a trusted advisor.”

PE is one of Shoosmiths’ key markets and the firm is increasingly winning larger mandates for its investment work with broader and deeper client relationships. This latest transaction demonstrates Shoosmiths’ deep-rooted knowledge in and ability to advise on large PE transactions and complex shareholding structures.
