Shoosmiths has advised Investec on its financing of a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) in London.

The £47m senior investment facility was provided to YourTRIBE, a London-based purpose-built student accommodation operator and student living brand, to refinance a newly completed 226-bed PBSA scheme in Elephant & Castle, London.

This transaction marks another financing instruction for Shoosmiths in the living sector, which continues to be a highly active asset class for the firm whether representing lenders, investors or operators. This transaction demonstrates Shoosmiths' expertise advising clients across a variety of investment and development real estate assets.

The deal was led by James Spencer, Real Estate Finance Partner, supported by Amanda Gilliland, Charlie White, Tom Jenkins and Saffron Stay.

This latest transaction builds on Shoosmiths' strong relationship with Investec and follows a number of financings completed for the bank across the PBSA and flexible living sectors, including the redevelopment of a PBSA/co-living asset in Wimbledon Park, the development of a PBSA/co-living scheme in Elephant & Castle, and a flexible living development in Morden.
