Health, safety and compliance training provider Safety UK Group (SUKG) has joined workforce development company Inspiro.
Published: 5 November 2026
The deal reflects continued investment in skills and workforce development businesses as employers face increasing regulatory, safety and compliance requirements. By bringing together SUKG's expertise in accredited training and compliance services with Inspiro's strengths in apprenticeships, vocational learning and workforce development, the combined business is well positioned to support employers operating in highly regulated sectors.
Founded by Michael Havercroft and Damian Dunne, Safety UK Group has built a strong reputation for delivering accredited health, safety, environmental and compliance training across the UK through The Safety Maintenance Company, The Safety Consultants Company and SOTA Training.
Shoosmiths advised the SUKG shareholders on the corporate aspects of the transaction, including the private equity elements, with support from specialist employment and tax lawyers.
James Foster, Corporate Partner at Shoosmiths, said: "Safety UK Group has built an outstanding reputation in the health, safety and compliance training market, making it an attractive partner for a business with Inspiro's growth ambitions. This transaction positions the business for its next phase of growth while allowing the founders to build on the strong platform they have created. Congratulations to the shareholders and all those involved on this significant milestone."
The Shoosmiths team was led by James Foster and included Partner Simon Procter, Legal Director Natalie Redfern, Senior Associate Jordan Collinson, Associate Arvind Paramiswaran and Trainee Solicitor Rebecca Tullet.
