Shoosmiths is pleased to announce the hire of Oscar Tang as a Partner, within the firm's Privacy & Data team, part of Shoosmiths’ market-leading Commercial Group. He will split his time between the firm’s London and Brussels offices.

Oscar strengthens the firm’s digital regulation capability and deepens its expertise across key sectors including Technology & AI. Oscar joins Shoosmiths from Clifford Chance, bringing over a decade of experience advising clients on digital regulation across safety and security regimes, from online safety and platform regulation under the Online Safety Act and Digital Services Act, to EU and UK cybersecurity regulation. His client base spans major global technology platforms, online brands, financial institutions and platforms, and media, aerospace and electronics businesses.

Oscar has particular strength leading on complex Big Tech mandates including investigations before the European Commission, Ofcom, and other technology and consumer regulators. He also has an established practice advising APAC and Chinese businesses. His addition enhances Shoosmiths' global capabilities and offerings across its key sectors, including Technology & AI, Financial Services and Consumer & Retail.

Shoosmiths continues to see strong growth in London, adding 17 partners since April 2025, including AI and technology lawyer Sarah Reynolds and IP lawyer France Delord. The appointments of Corporate Partners Kurt Ma and Wei Wu will bring Shoosmiths to three ESEA partners supporting an expanding APAC presence and business. Also, the appointments bolster the firm’s capability to manage both national and international mandates across the firm’s core practices and key sectors.
