Shoosmiths has announced the promotion of nine new partners, effective from 1 April 2026, reinforcing the firm’s continued investment in exceptional talent and its focus on delivering high-quality, complex work for clients.
Published: 26 March 2026
The promotions span all three of the firm’s key pillars, with four in Corporate, three in Advisory Services and two in Real Estate. Drawn from across the UK, the cohort reflects the depth of Shoosmiths’ emerging leadership.
These promotions come at a point of clear momentum for the firm. Shoosmiths has sharpened its strategic focus, strengthened its platform and continues to build a reputation for handling sophisticated, high-value work for ambitious clients. Developing and backing its own talent sits at the heart of that progress.
Kirsten Hewson, Chair of Shoosmiths, said:
“These are outstanding lawyers who have already earned the trust of our clients and colleagues. They combine technical excellence with a real understanding of what matters commercially. Just as importantly, they embody the culture we are building at Shoosmiths. One that values collaboration, ambition and the confidence to do things differently.
This is exactly the kind of talent that gives us confidence in the direction we are heading as a firm.”
David Jackson, CEO of Shoosmiths, added:
“Becoming a partner here means something. It reflects consistent delivery for clients, the ability to build relationships that last, and a mindset that looks forward rather than back.
This group represents the future of our firm. They are commercially sharp, ambitious for our clients and for themselves, and fully aligned to where we are heading. They will play a central role in shaping the next phase of Shoosmiths.
We are clear about the firm we are building. Focused on high-quality work. Confident in how we deliver it. Investing in technology and new ways of working. And creating an environment where talented people can do the best work of their careers.
That combination is powerful for our clients and compelling for ambitious lawyers.”
The promotions form part of Shoosmiths’ broader approach to growth, combining a strong internal pipeline with targeted lateral hiring in priority areas reflecting client growth areas. The firm continues to invest in capability across its chosen markets and sectors, ensuring it is well placed to support clients as their needs evolve.
