Procurement Bill receives Royal Assent

The Procurement Bill received Royal Assent on 26 October and has become the Procurement Act 2023.

Whilst it is now law, its provisions are not yet fully in force. There will be an implementation period before it fully goes live, which is expected to be in October 2024.

We have previously reported on some of the main changes to the procurement regime in our articles Procurement Bill: An overview and The Procurement Bill - substantial progress or missed opportunity? as well as our bitesize podcast series beginning with, Public Procurement Post Brexit: New Procedures, same as the old?.

As we get closer to the go live date we will be looking at what suppliers and contracting authorities need to do to prepare for the new regime.
