UK law firm Shoosmiths has appointed corporate partner James Klein, who is expected to significantly rack up Shoosmiths’ presence in the tech and digital space.
James has been brought in to head the London corporate team at Shoosmiths. His areas of expertise include domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, corporate restructuring and reorganisations and joint ventures.
James’ track record in the technology sector includes fundraising, private equity and venture capital transactions, and he has acted frequently for management teams and institutional investment houses on private equity deals.
James is on the Advisory Board of Tech London Advocates and also an advisor to Salesforce Accelerate - a programme that was launched in Europe just months ago by the world’s top CRM and sales platform - to nurture and grow start-ups in the Financial Services sector.
James Klein said: “The opportunity to be part of a corporate team at Shoosmiths that blends technically excellent legal advice with commercial astuteness and true ambition is an exciting one. I’m looking forward to being part of the Shoosmiths team that works with businesses from start-up and first round finance, through to mergers and acquisitions, MBO and MBI transactions, development funding and on exits, by way of sale, listing or private equity investment.
“It’s a great time to join Shoosmiths with the corporate team having just won two awards in the corporate space for venture capital and Enterprise Investment Schemes tax advice, which show the strength of our advice as a law firm advising private and public organisations, management teams, investors and debt finance throughout the business life cycle.”
