Law firm Shoosmiths has been recognised as a top firm for innovation in Europe by the Financial Times, which publishes research findings in its annual Innovative Lawyers Special Report.
The report contains an index of firms, and articles which highlight innovations in the legal sector, and is the most widely respected published assessments for innovation in the law.
In addition to the report, the FT Innovative Lawyers Europe Awards were held on 13 October, where Shoosmiths’ work was recognised in a series of shortlistings. These include:
- Designing the client experience – Shoosmiths EIGHT Connected Services
- Practice of Law: Market Firsts – Shoosmiths LLP: helping real estate clients address nitrate neutrality issues (celebrated as ‘Stand-out’)
- Practice of Law: Multi-disciplinary teams – Shoosmiths Financial Services Compliance product (Commended)
- Sustainable business of law – Leading the conversation on green recovery (Commended)
- Innovative Leader – David Jackson
David Jackson, CEO of Shoosmiths, commented: “We’re thrilled to have been recognised in the FT’s Special Report for the unique innovations we have designed and built for our clients, people and the communities within which we operate.
“At Shoosmiths we believe that innovation doesn’t just lie in the products we bring to market or the approaches we take. It also lies in the industrious and creative mindsets that Shoosmiths colleagues bring to work every day.
“This year’s rankings are a testament to the commitment we’re making to drive forward innovation as a firm. They also set down a marker that we are here to trailblaze to push the legal profession forwards into a new era focused on innovative service delivery.”
The release of the Special Report comes shortly after Shoosmiths won ‘Law Firm of the Year’ at the Legal Business Awards 2022, in which the submission highlighted the firm’s unique approach to innovation and the launch of Shoosmiths EIGHT Connected Services in March 2021.
