Animals in need Northamptonshire

Throughout February 2018, several members of the Conveyancing Department volunteered to help at Animals in Need Northamptonshire.

It is an organisation ran by volunteers dedicated to saving and caring for animals, with the ultimate aim of re-homing them.

On arrival, we were given a back-stage tour of the Sanctuary. This gave us the chance to get up close to their resident animals of all shapes and sizes, including horses, rabbits, hedgehogs, pigs and many other furry friends.

Across three days, around fifteen members of staff braved the mud (and puppy dog eyes!) to give a helping hand by walking dogs and DIY-ing around the Sanctuary.

Despite the “Beast from the East”, we arrived in wellies, rolled up our sleeves and were ready to get stuck in! Many tail-wagging dogs were taken for a stroll around Little Irchester Country Park and stole our hearts and those of the local town.

Although it was difficult to tell who enjoyed the walks more, it was clear that much fun was had by all involved.

Thank you Shoosmiths for giving us the opportunity to demonstrate the importance of pulling together. Everyone had an incredible experience and is keen to get involved again.
