Leeds Royal Afternoon Tea Party raises over £380 for Martin House

On 18 May 2018 the Leeds Charity Committee hosted an Afternoon Tea Party to celebrate the royal wedding in aid of Martin House Children’s Hospice.

Leeds staff kindly baked and donated cakes, cupcakes, and other treats to sell at the Afternoon Tea Party. The invitation was also extended to the other businesses and organisations in the Platform building, and many members of the Platform community joined staff for a glass of prosecco and a slice of cake. The event was not only a great opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause, but also a chance to meet other members of the Platform community and raise Shoosmiths profile in the building.

Staff and guests enjoyed taking part in the royal themed games, including ‘pin the tail on the corgi’, guessing the line of succession to the British throne, and a scone tasting contest. Harry and Meghan also managed to make a brief appearance, despite being busy getting ready for their big day (see pictures).

The CR committee would like to say a massive thank you to Philpotts for their kind donations of cakes and sandwiches, and all the organisations that donated fabulous prizes for our raffle, including Revolucion de Cuba, Tiger Tiger, and Park Lane Properties. Thank you also to Bruntwood for supporting and promoting the event.

The total raised for Martin House was an impressive £384.63. Martin House provide family led care for children with life shortening conditions across Yorkshire. For more information, please visit their website https://www.martinhouse.org.uk
