Shoosmiths team renovates the garden of local charity No5 Young People

On 14th June 2022, volunteers from across the Thames Valley office, picked up their spades and plant pots to renovate the garden of the local office charity, No.5 Young People.

The No5 garden in Reading was in need of a little love and they welcomed a team of green fingered Shoosmiths volunteers to put their best efforts at tidying up and brightening the space. While their expertise may lay in real estate and commercial litigation, the team were able to pull together to become landscapers for the day.

The volunteers – Marcus Devanny, Liz McKillop Paley, Florence Banister, Sarah Fenn, Mel Payne, Darren Cleveland, Mike Vallance and Cristina Murray-Radulescu – put in a solid team effort by mowing the lawn, weeding the patios and pruning, while enlivening the space by painting the picnic table and planting flowers.

Nearly unrecognisable, the garden is far more welcoming, and an excellent setting for a lunchtime picnic in the sun. The charity was clearly pleased with the result and were very grateful for the time Shoosmiths spent in sprucing up the space just in time for the lovely weather ahead!
