Alicia Yilmaz is a commercial real estate lawyer who qualified in April 2022, following several years of experience as a paralegal in the same field. She advises on a wide range of commercial property matters, including acquisitions and disposals of freehold and leasehold property, landlord and tenant matters, estate management, corporate support and restructuring.
Alicia is known for her practical, solution-based approach and strong client relationships. She works with a variety of clients, including national retailers, property companies, and overseas investors.
In particular, Alicia:
- Advises on large leasehold portfolios and estate management matters, including new leases, renewals, variations, licences to occupy or alter, assignments, underlettings, rent reviews and surrenders.
- Supports clients with acquisitions and disposals of commercial property, including development sites, warehouses, and industrial estates.
- Advises on both borrower and lender side real estate finance.
- Works on complex commercial property aspects of corporate transactions and joint ventures.
- Has experience advising on electric vehicle charging point leases from both landlord and tenant perspectives.
- Works with overseas investors on managing and expanding their UK property portfolios, particularly in England and Wales.
Alicia is a part of the Real Estate team in the Birmingham office.
Alicia is also a Turkish speaking lawyer, which enables her to support clients with Turkish connections and build trusted relationships across cultures.
Outside of her legal practice, Alicia is a committed primary school governor and currently chairs the Health and Safety Committee. She has held governance roles for over five years across two schools, contributing to the strategic development and safeguarding of school environments.
