Becca is an Associate in the Shoosmiths’ Serious Injury Team.
Becca acts for individuals and their families who have suffered life changing injuries through no fault of their own. Becca works in a team of specialist medical negligence solicitors who advise on a wide variety of claims including, for example complex brain injury, spinal injury and amputation cases.
Becca has a varied caseload of serious injury claims against NHS trusts, private hospitals/practitioners and General Practitioners. Becca’s work involves providing bespoke legal advice on complex serious injury matters. Becca investigates her client’s claims diligently and meticulously focussing on the individual clients' needs. She litigates and advocates for injured or bereaved individuals and their families, giving them a voice against the NHS and insurance companies.
Becca represents a group of former patients of Mr Mian Munawar Shah, who were recalled by Walsall Manor Hospital following concerns regarding Mr Shah’s treatment, some of whom have sustained permanent and life changing disabilities as a result. Becca also acts for victims of Ian Paterson, rogue breast surgeon, and is proud to have assisted her clients in seeking justice, accountability, an apology and compensation for their injuries. Becca is passionate about working on behalf of clients against rogue surgeons.
Becca provides a highly personalised service, caring about each client and their specific needs. She visits her clients at their homes so that they receive advice, on what is usually one of their most difficult life experiences, in a comfortable and familiar environment. She is passionate about exploring assistive technology options to help her clients adjust to life changing injuries.
