Brenda qualified as a commercial paralegal in 2004 and joined the Edinburgh Real Estate Team in 2015. She specialises on working with developers and Housing Associations on the sale of new build plots, and supports the real estate finance team.
Brenda has recently completed the sale of all of the plots at a new build affordable housing development. Her experience generally includes developments from 30 plots to upwards of 150 plots, covering both houses and flatted dwellings and including shared equity transactions.
Her work for housebuilders includes plot sales and part exchanges for national and local housebuilders, dealing with estate set-up and compilation of estate titles, and the full plot sale process including responding to title queries, contract negotiation, and conveyancing. Brenda is experienced in working to clients’ particular requirements in terms of service delivery and reporting, and has assisted in fine-tuning such processes and updating them as required, in order to ensure complete client satisfaction.
Brenda has substantial experience in supporting property finance transactions, drafting standard banking documentation, liaising with borrowers’ solicitors, and dealing with Companies House formalities. She also assists the team in LBTT and Land Registration requirements.
