Caroline leads the team of Professional Support Lawyers in the Corporate Division and is responsible for driving knowledge strategy, development of legal resources and supporting our legal advisers in the delivery of technical excellence.
The Corporate Division’s professional support lawyers are responsible for the creation, maintenance and enhancement of the Division’s precedents; the use of automation, AI and other technology for operational excellence; the delivery of legal updates, technical toolkits and thought leadership articles; the provision of technical legal training; and the development of best practice, policies and procedures. Caroline and the team also provide expert support to legal advisers on complex technical queries.
With extensive transactional experience spanning private equity investments, share and business sales, joint ventures, partnerships, and group reorganisations, Caroline also advises on corporate governance and compliance matters. Her practical insight and deep technical knowledge underpin her ability to translate complex legal developments into accessible, actionable guidance.
Caroline qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and joined Blake Lapthorn (now Blake Morgan) in 1998, where she practised as a corporate lawyer before transitioning to a professional support role in 2003. She joined Shoosmiths in 2007 and has since been instrumental in developing the Corporate Division’s knowledge function.
