George is an Associate based in the Shoosmiths’ Milton Keynes corporate team, having qualified into the team in March 2021. George has a wide range of expertise in corporate transactions, working with private equity houses, corporate entities and management teams on M&A transactions, disposals, investments, shareholder arrangements and general corporate governance.

George’s recent deal experience includes advising:

  • Five Arrows, the private equity arm of Rothschild & Co, investing through its European (Five Arrows Principal Investments) and US (Five Arrows Capital Partners) funds, on the acquisition of Texthelp Ltd, the global leader in literacy and accessibility technology, including subsequent bolt-on acquisitions of several European and US based companies, including the Lingit Group, Wizkids and Don Johnston Inc;
  • Five Arrows Principal Investments on its acquisition of Sygnature Discovery, a UK-based drug discovery firm, from Phoenix Equity Partners;
  • Gravity Global Limited and management on the sale of the Gravity Global Group to Elysian Capital;
  • US based Beeline Group on its acquisition of JoinedUp group, a workforce management software provider, backed by the group’s investee company, New Mountain Capital;
  • the sellers of White Clarke Group (including its sponsors Five Arrows Principal Investments) to IDS, backed by Thoma Bravo;
  • the acquisition of Mintec Global, provider of food commodity price data and market intelligence, by Five Arrows Principal Investments;
  • Humble Group AB (publ), a Swedish food-tech and FMCG listed company, on multiple acquisitions, including that of GO Superfoods, a market leading supplier of organic superfoods; and
  • The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (NYSE: EL) on the second phase majority investment into DECIEM Beauty Group Inc., the international, Canadian-based, multi-brand beauty company, with the completed investment reflecting a total enterprise value of approximately $2.2 billion.

After working as a Paralegal in Shoosmiths’ Milton Keynes corporate team, George’s training contract commenced in September 2019 and saw him train within Shoosmiths’ corporate and commercial teams, gaining significant experience on secondment working within the legal function of Volkswagen Group UK Ltd.
