Kate is a Partner in the Tax team, based in the Solent Office but working nationally.

She leads the contentious tax practice, handling disputes with HMRC in respect of direct and indirect tax matters. She obtained Higher Rights of Audience (All Higher Courts) in 2007 and became the youngest solicitor advocate to appear in the Court of Appeal in the successful case of Revenue and Customs Commissioners v Smallwood [2007] BTC 347. She is also a proponent of alternative dispute resolution and is a CEDR Accredited Mediator.

In addition, Kate provides tax advisory services in respect of corporate and business taxation, with a focus on real estate transactions and property taxes.

Kate is a Chartered Tax Adviser and member of the Stamp Taxes Practitioners Group. She also serves on the Chartered Institute of Taxation's Management of Taxes Committee.
