Lloyd joined Shoosmiths in 2024 as a Solicitor Apprentice, a new program providing aspiring solicitors with opportunity to learn and grow while gaining experience and forging a long-term career with an award-winning law firm.

Lloyd is currently undertaking his second seat as part of Shoosmiths’ Solicitor Apprenticeship Programme and is placed within the Advisory Services division. He is aligned with Shoosmiths EIGHT’s SmartSAR product, a streamlined solution for managing Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).

Prior to this, Lloyd completed his first year of the apprenticeship gaining experience in Business Development & Marketing, aligned to the Advisory Services division, followed by six months in the Corporate Division. These roles provided insight into both the operational and transactional aspects of the firm, building a strong foundation for his legal training.

The training encompasses supervised work-based learning, to meet the SRA’s competence statement, and will produce a work-based assessment portfolio. In addition to examinations throughout the apprenticeship, Solicitor Apprentices are required to pass The Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), an SRA centralised assessment.

Shoosmiths Solicitor Apprenticeship Programme provides a great alternative route to qualify as a Solicitor, and the firm is committed to nurturing talent and developing expertise through providing relevant vocational and professional apprenticeships.

He will earn his LLB (Hons) in Law and Legal Practice on completion of the Solicitor Apprenticeship.
