Niamh joined Shoosmiths in 2021 and qualified as an Associate into Shoosmiths' London Employment team having completed her training contract at the firm.
 
She advises on a wide range of employment law issues for both commercial and individual clients in both contentious and non-contentious matters. 
 
Her experience includes:
  • handling complex tribunal litigation, including claims for unfair dismissal, whistleblowing detriment and dismissal, discrimination, harassment and victimisation;
  • drafting and reviewing employment contracts, service agreements and company policies;
  • advising in relation to the enforcement of post-termination restrictions; 
  • providing strategic and commercial advice on employee exits, including for reasons of redundancy, performance and capability;
  • reviewing and negotiating settlement agreement terms for both employee and employer clients;
  • assisting clients with the employment aspects of corporate transactions and investments;
  • delivering training to various organisations, including on the prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace, sickness absence management, and the duty to make reasonable adjustments; and
  • assisting with and supporting clients in handling grievances, disciplinaries and data subject access requests.
Niamh is also involved in the financial services sector, with a particular interest in non-financial misconduct.
 
Niamh is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
