Ruth graduated from the University of Dundee in 2014 with a First Class Honours degree in Law with French. She qualified as a Solicitor in September 2016 with Commendation from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies at Queen’s University, Belfast.
 
Ruth has a broad range of experience in all aspects of non-contentious commercial property law. She regularly acts for clients in the acquisition and disposal of freehold and leasehold properties as well as the drafting and review of commercial leases and landlord and tenant work.  Ruth also has experience in residential development, acting on behalf of property developers with respect to the acquisition of development sites, site assembly and subsequent sales of new build residential properties.
 
Ruth also has extensive experience in residential conveyancing, acting for a range of clients, including first time buyers, investors and housing associations, in the sale and purchase of residential properties.
In 2017-2018, Ruth was involved in the acquisition of a major oil distribution business.
Since joining Shoosmiths in May 2019, Ruth has assisted John Palmer in the property aspects of energy and renewable projects.
