I provide contentious and non-contentious support on employment matters in sectors ranging from social enterprise, retail, food & drink, utilities and manufacturing (pharmaceutical). I have retained immigration experience and can support with corporate and personal immigration in the post-Brexit world, particularly with issues relating to sponsorship and right to work.
My interests sit within discrimination and equal pay. I have represented both employers and employees in the full breadth of discrimination claims. Currently, I supporting the defence of an equal pay and sex discrimination class action.
My recent litigation work requires consideration of the issue of trade union blacklisting, whether a pandemic mandatory face mask policy could be discriminatory to employees with disabilities and representing a claimant in an unfair dismissal claim against an employer in liquidation.
My recent advisory work consists of dismissals due to statutory restriction, cross-border contract work and redesigning holiday pay processes as a result of updated case law.
I value thought leadership and have had work published by the Employment Law Journal, Lexology and Lexis Nexis. Outside of the office, I enjoy supporting next generation lawyers. I supervise law students to assist Claimants at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Strathclyde legal advice services.
