Sarah is a Senior Associate in the Corporate Restructuring and Advisory team, advising on all legal aspects of restructuring and insolvency across both contentious and non-contentious matters.
She acts for a broad range of clients including banks, insolvency practitioners, companies, directors, and creditors, providing strategic advice throughout the insolvency process.
On the non-contentious side, Sarah regularly advises insolvency practitioners on all matters arising from their appointments as administrators, liquidators, or receivers. Her experience includes acting for both buyers and sellers in business and asset sales out of administration, advising on company voluntary arrangements (CVAs), reviewing security structures and documentation, and preparing court applications in connection with insolvency proceedings.
Her contentious work spans a wide range of issues including retention of title (ROT) claims, supply chain disruption, formal insolvency appointments, debt recovery, directors’ duties, disqualification proceedings, and disputes concerning antecedent transactions—acting for both officeholders and respondents.
Sarah has played a key role in several high-profile restructuring plans, including OutsideClinic and Tasty Plc, both of which contributed to significant developments in UK restructuring case law. She has also advised on successful CVAs for well-known high street retailers such as Moss Bros, Poundstretcher, and Jigsaw.
Sarah is recognised by The Legal 500 as a key lawyer in the Manchester team, noted for her expertise across both contentious and non-contentious aspects of insolvency.
