Steph Jones is a paralegal based in the Birmingham office, having joined the Serious Injury team at Shoosmiths in October 2023 after obtaining a first-class undergraduate degree in Law from the University of Leeds.
Described by colleagues as focused, approachable, and possessing great attention to detail, Steph manages her own case load representing individuals and their families who have suffered life changing injuries through no fault of their own. She works closely alongside Phil Barnes, National Head of Serious Injury, on a variety of complex and high-value claims, including birth injuries and oncology cases.
Steph assists with representing a group of former patients of Mr. Mian Munawar Shah, former Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Walsall Manor Hospital, who have suffered significant and life-changing orthopaedic injuries.
Steph is committed to fighting her client’s corner and securing the best possible outcomes in their cases. Known for her tenacity, she has developed a strong reputation for achieving impressive results in clinical negligence cases. Steph provides her clients with compassionate support, guiding them through the litigation process while considering their individual needs and offering a bespoke service. Her dedication to making a difference in her clients' lives is evident in her approach to each case.
Steph is an active member of the Shoosmiths Birmingham Office Charity Committee, where she plays a key role in organising a wide range of fundraising initiatives in support of the office’s chosen charity.
She is also a proud member of Future Faces, the largest young professionals network in the Greater Birmingham region, reflecting her commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
Outside of work, Steph is an avid traveller who loves to explore new countries and cultures.
