Suzanne is a banking and finance lawyer, undertaking a wide range of debt finance work - with particular expertise in mid-market acquisition financings,  cross jurisdictional matters and general corporate lending.  Suzanne acts for borrowers, banks and financial institutions at both senior and mezzanine level, on a bilateral, club and syndicated basis.  Suzanne has experience of advising on regional, national and international transactions.

Suzanne works with a range of documentation including facility agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements and legal opinions. Her experience includes working with bilateral bank standard documentation as well as Loan Market Association and bespoke finance documents.  Suzanne's recent experience includes:

  • advising Five Arrows and Texthelp, the global leader in literacy and assistive technology, on the merger of Texthelp with n2y, a trailblazer in special education curriculum resources, which included (amongst other things) advising Texthelp in relation to the granting of European security under its multi-million global financing arrangement for the new international group – including the US, England, Northern Ireland and Norway.
  • advising a group operating a global network of learning businesses - including England, Brazil, Spain, The Netherlands and the US, in relation to multi-million US dollar amendment and restatement of its existing English law facilities with a major UK clearing bank.
  • advising a major UK clearing bank in relation to a property term loan and a cashflow loan to a UK based family funeral directors to assist with a multi-million sterling management buy out.
  • advising a UK equity investment fund in relation to their continued long term investment into a leading occupational health provider.
  • advising a UK based independent engineering and services business in relation to its multi-million sterling revolving credit facility and uncommitted accordion with a UK clearing bank.
  • acting for a leading UK clearing bank in relation to its refinancing of a multi-million sterling revolving credit facility to a group of luxury holiday sites in the UK.

Suzanne qualified with Blake Morgan in 2008 and then joined Shoosmiths in September 2011.  In 2013, Suzanne spent five months on secondment to the Financial Sponsors South arm of The Royal Bank of Scotland plc, where she was involved in providing debt facilities in support of UK mid-market private equity transactions.

Suzanne has been 11 years ranked as an "Associate to Watch" in Chambers.
