Tazmin joined Shoosmiths in 2020 and is now undertaking her training in the firm’s London office. She is currently sitting in the firm's Corporate team where she has experience working alongside private equity houses, management teams, and large corporates on both domestic and cross-border private equity and M&A transactions.
She previously sat in Tax & Incentives where she gained experience in S/EIS and VCT qualifying investments; tax related issued related to M&A, corporate reorganisations and restructures and PE investments; and, employee incentive arrangements, including growth shares, share options, EMI, and EBTs.
Prior to this, she sat in Banking & Finance where she worked on a range of leveraged finance and real estate finance transactions on behalf of banks, corporates, and financial institutions.
Before commencing her training contract, Tazmin worked as a Paralegal in the firm’s Corporate team.
Tazmin has been involved in a variety of notable transactions, including:
- Acting for Centaur Media PLC in its sale of The Lawyer to Legal Benchmarking Group for £43m. Tazmin's role on the transaction earned her a feature in The Lawyer's 'Partnerless' segment
- Advising Five Arrows Principal Investments and Five Arrows Long Term Fund (the PE arm of Rothschild & Co) on its acquisition and investment in Rimes, a leading provider of EDMaaS
- Acting for Downing LLP on several portfolio acquisitions and disposals in the healthcare sector
- Five Arrows’ acquisition of a majority stake in Expana (formerly Mintec), a leading provider of food commodity price data and market intelligence, as well as Five Arrows’ co-investment alongside Synova
- Conducting the English legal due diligence for Estée Lauder’s acquisition of Tom Ford, with a total enterprise value of approximately $2.8 billion
Tazmin graduated with a first-class degree in Classics and Philosophy from the University of Nottingham. Whilst working as a Paralegal at the firm, she completed the PGDL from the University of Law before passing her Solicitors Qualifying Examination.
