Shoosmiths bolsters employment team with latest lateral appointment

Shoosmiths today announces that employment law expert Harry Abrams has joined the firm’s partnership in London. His recruitment bolsters the team’s offering particularly across the technology, life science and luxury retail sector.

Harry joins from JMW Solicitors where his practice focused on advising scale up companies and established corporates. His advisory work spans the full employment lifecycle, including contentious and non-contentious advisory, complex exits, strategic workforce planning, and employment litigation.

His client portfolio includes a high-end luxury retail group, a UK unicorn and one of London’s top sustainable film production sites.

Prior to his previous firm, he also spent time working at Taylor Vinters – later merged with Mishcon de Reya.

At Shoosmiths, Harry will play a key role in scaling the firm's platform to offer a broader suite of legal services to clients, as well as engaging in business development efforts such as mentoring and supervising the next generation of employment lawyers in the team.

Paul Stokey, Head of Shoosmiths National Employment team, said: “Harry’s appointment aligns directly with the firm’s strategic goals thanks to his deep sectoral expertise across a number of Shoosmiths’ key practices. His commitment to excellence and long-term relationship cultivation with clients will be sure to add significant value to our national team and growing roster of clients.”

Commenting on his appointment Harry said: “It is an exciting time to be joining Shoosmiths as the firm continues to expand its reach and capability in the employment space. The firm boasts a stellar reputation for its dedication to clients and innovative culture, making it the perfect platform for the next step of my career. I look forward to working with this team of seasoned advisers.”
