Consumer Duty of Care - The basics and what should we expect

Part 1

This podcast discusses the FCA’s consultation on introducing a consumer duty. Shoosmiths will be responding to the consultation and assisting our clients in understanding how this will affect their business, processes and documentation going forward.

The podcast is split into two parts: the first part runs through the consultation itself; and the second part discusses its potential impact on firms in more detail.

Brought to you by Thomas Morrison and Sam Tyfield, part of Shoosmiths working group formed to respond to the consultation and to assist our clients in understanding how this will affect their business, culture, processes and documentation going forward.

The Consultation Paper is CP21/13 and is available on the FCA website. The FCA has also recorded a webinar which you can access through the FCA website which provides important context as regard policy behind and supervision and enforcement of the proposed duty.
